We’re recruiting for a fire protection contractor looking for an experienced Design Manager to lead its sprinkler design team and oversee new construction projects.

You’ll manage the team’s workload, maintain design quality and work closely with project managers and installation crews to keep projects moving.

The role

• Lead, support and develop a team of sprinkler designers.

• Oversee drawings, hydraulic calculations, material lists and technical submissions.

• Ensure designs meet NFPA standards, project specifications and local approval requirements.

• Manage design schedules, deadlines and project hours.

• Resolve design and installation issues alongside project managers and field teams.

• Support estimating, permitting and material coordination when needed.

What you’ll need

• At least five years’ experience in fire sprinkler design.

• Previous experience supervising or managing designers.

• NICET Level III certification.

• Strong knowledge of NFPA standards and the permitting process.

• Experience using AutoCAD or specialist sprinkler design software.

• Good communication, organisation and problem-solving skills.

• Willingness to visit construction sites as required.
