Fire Alarm Technician

The Position

A fire protection business in the Atlanta area is looking to appoint an experienced Fire Alarm Technician.

The position will involve working at customer sites to assess, maintain, and repair fire alarm systems. You will manage your own workload in the field while receiving support from an established service team.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and test fire alarm equipment.
• Investigate faults and resolve system issues.
• Perform scheduled maintenance and necessary repairs.
• Replace defective devices and system components.
• Confirm that completed work meets applicable standards.
• Document visits, findings, and completed repairs.
• Advise customers of deficiencies and recommended work.
• Communicate with colleagues to coordinate service requirements.
• Use and maintain the equipment provided for the position.
• Follow workplace and customer-site safety requirements.

Candidate Profile

• Previous experience working with commercial fire alarm systems.
• A relevant technical qualification or industry certification would be beneficial.
• General understanding of fire alarm regulations and electrical safety.
• Ability to diagnose faults across different types of equipment.
• Comfortable using digital reporting and job-management systems.
• Able to work independently and organize a field-based schedule.
• Professional and confident when communicating with customers.
• Valid driver’s license.

Working Conditions

This is a mobile position covering customer sites throughout the Greater Atlanta area. Work may take place across a range of occupied and operational properties.

Candidates should be comfortable using ladders, accessing equipment at different heights, moving tools and materials, and working in typical service environments.
