Lead Fire Alarm Technician

$30-50 PER HOUR DOE

An established fire protection business is hiring an experienced fire alarm technician to lead commercial installation and service work, supporting other technicians and apprentices.

The Role

• Install, program, test and commission new systems, upgrades and replacements.

• Inspect existing systems, diagnose faults and complete repairs.

• Read drawings, coordinate site work and provide technical guidance to the team.

• Maintain code compliance and accurate documentation.

• Explain findings and repair requirements to customers.

• Participate in a scheduled on-call rotation.

Requirements

• Experience in both commercial fire alarm installation and service, ideally with five or more years in the industry.

• Strong troubleshooting, programming and commissioning skills across multiple manufacturers.

• Knowledge of relevant NFPA standards and local codes.

• Valid driver’s license, at least three years of licensed driving and an acceptable driving record.

• Ability to work on ladders and lifts, access confined spaces and lift up to 70 pounds.

NICET certification and experience with special hazard suppression systems and releasing controls are advantages.
