The Opportunity

We are representing an established fire protection contractor seeking an experienced Fire Sprinkler Inspector to join its growing team in Maryland.

This position involves inspecting, testing, servicing, and maintaining water-based fire protection systems across a variety of commercial, industrial, and residential properties. The successful candidate will be a dependable fire protection professional who takes pride in completing work safely, accurately, and to the required industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Inspect and test fire sprinkler and other water-based fire protection systems.

  • Perform routine service and preventative maintenance.

  • Identify system deficiencies and assist with diagnosing operational issues.

  • Confirm systems comply with applicable NFPA standards and local regulations.

  • Clearly explain system conditions, operation, and recommended work to customers.

  • Complete inspection reports, service records, and related documentation accurately and on time.

  • Organize daily appointments and manage job progress efficiently.

  • Deliver professional and responsive customer service.

  • Follow all company and site-specific safety procedures.

  • Maintain company-provided vehicles, tools, and equipment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.

  • NICET Level II or higher in Inspection and Testing of Water-Based Systems is strongly preferred.

  • Relevant state licensing, sprinkler fitter credentials, or completion of a recognized fire sprinkler apprenticeship may also be considered.

  • At least two years of experience inspecting and testing water-based fire protection systems.

  • Working knowledge of NFPA requirements and fire protection industry standards.

  • Strong troubleshooting and communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and adjust to changing priorities.

  • Valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, and reach for extended periods.

  • Comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces when appropriate safety equipment is provided.

  • Ability to work in commercial, industrial, residential, and outdoor environments.

  • Comfortable using hand tools, power tools, ladders, lifts, and other industry equipment.

  • Ability to work in environments involving noise, dust, changing temperatures, limited lighting, or other typical jobsite conditions.
